About Dylan

Dylan MacDonald is an associate in Stewart McKelvey's Halifax office. The practice covers environmental compliance, maritime and admiralty matters, energy rate regulation, and land use planning, with clients represented before courts and regulatory tribunals across Atlantic Canada. Dylan advises natural resource and energy clients on regulatory exposure and defends prosecutions under environmental statutes including the Fisheries Act and the Nova Scotia Environment Act. The maritime practice includes vessel arrest and other admiralty proceedings before the Federal Court, as well as maritime transactions and contracts. Dylan has appeared before the Nova Scotia Energy Board on rate-making and tariff matters and before the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board on land use planning and expropriation issues. MacDonald earned a JD from the Dalhousie University Schulich School of Law in 2018 and a BComm from Saint Mary's University in 2015, and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2019.
