About Deborah

Deborah (Debbie) Lovett, KC co-founded Lovett Westmacott with Angela Westmacott in 1997, after practicing for years as a litigator in the BC Ministry of Attorney General's Administrative and Constitutional Law Section. She practices administrative, constitutional and human rights law, advising public sector clients and self-governing professions, and has appeared at all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada. Lovett was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1999 and was the primary author of a key report on Model Statutory Powers Provisions for Administrative Tribunals during the BC Attorney General's Administrative Justice Project. She also acts as a neutral investigator, primarily in workplace disputes and discrimination and harassment complaints, and has held past appointments including chair of the 2004 Judicial Justices Compensation Commission and member of the Law Society Discipline Committee.
