About David
David Zender is Of Counsel with more than thirty years of experience advising clients in the retail and industrial sectors. He served as General Counsel to Home Depot of Canada Inc., where he sat on the senior management team and oversaw legal and compliance matters across the country's largest home improvement retailer, covering corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, labour and employment, competition law, privacy, litigation management, and real estate and construction matters. His earlier roles include in-house positions at Venator Group Canada and Shell Canada Products Limited, along with private practice at Heenan Blaikie LLP and Tory Tory Deslaurier & Binnington, and he began his career articling at the Supreme Court of Canada. David draws on this combined in-house and private-practice background to advise businesses on commercial agreements, employment, compliance, and corporate governance. He holds an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School.
