About David

David Randell is a partner in Stewart McKelvey's Business Law Group in Halifax and leads the firm's Energy Group. He advises on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate governance across industries including insurance, mining, media, energy, manufacturing and technology, and has completed more than 50 corporate finance transactions for public and private clients. His recent work includes acting for NuStar Energy in the sale of its Point Tupper storage terminal and for the special committee of Clearwater Seafoods in its roughly $1 billion acquisition. He also advises developers and acquirors of renewable energy projects, including early-stage and developed wind projects, and has represented companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange on governance and disclosure matters. Randell holds a JD from the University of Toronto (2003) and a BA from Mount Allison University (2000), and was called to the bar in Ontario in 2005, New Brunswick in 2014, and Nova Scotia in 2017.
