About Naiomi

Naiomi is from the Listuguj Mi'gmaq First Nation in Quebec and is an active member of the firm's Aboriginal Law practice group, having appeared before the courts of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Federal courts on high-profile First Nations cases. She also advises Aboriginal clients on governance, employment and human rights issues. Since 2016 she has split her time between practice and full-time faculty at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where she holds the Chancellor's Chair in Aboriginal Law and Policy. Naiomi holds a BA and LLB from Dalhousie, an LLL from Ottawa University, and an LLM from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was the first Mi'gmaq person to clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada. She has been named to the Best Lawyers in Canada list in Aboriginal law since 2015.
