About David

David M. Renwick, K.C., is a partner at Baker Newby LLP who co-managed the firm for nearly 40 years and mentored many of its litigators, some of whom became judges and politicians. He graduated from Chilliwack Senior High School, obtained his LLB from UBC, and articled to Bill Davies, Q.C., of Davies Baker, the firm's predecessor; he has been a partner since 1979. Over his 43-year career he has practised personal injury litigation, drug prosecution, criminal defence, construction disputes and other commercial litigation. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2007 and is a Life Bencher after serving eight years as a Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia. He is a former Chair of the Cultus Lake Park Board and a former Alternate Chair of the BC Review Board.
