About Carmela

Carmela Allevato is a founding partner of Allevato Quail & Associates and has been active in BC's labour movement for more than thirty years, including as Vice Chair of the Labour Relations Board, a Vancouver School Board Trustee, and Vice-President of the BC Federation of Labour. Carmela Allevato previously served as Secretary-Business Manager and lead negotiator for the Hospital Employees Union, contributing to advances in pay equity, and worked as in-house counsel for CUPE and the BC Teachers' Federation. Carmela Allevato's current work at the firm focuses on union training and education, including disability accommodation, grievance arbitration, and bargaining.
