Administrative & Regulatory LawDavid Eaton is a partner in McInnes Cooper's St. John's office focusing on corporate and commercial disputes, class action litigation, and the defence of regulatory offences involving matters such as pollution, occupational health and safety, fisheries and tax. His litigation work also covers professional liability, defamation, constitutional law and insurance claims, and he appears regularly before courts in Newfoundland and before professional disciplinary bodies. David spent ten years on the Benchers of the Law Society of Newfoundland, serving as President in 1998 and 1999, and now chairs the Law Society's Discipline Committee. He taught criminal law and procedure at Memorial University of Newfoundland for 32 years and has been a faculty member of the Federation of Law Societies' National Criminal Law Program. He earned his LL.B. from Queen's University in 1980 and was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar the same year.
