About David

David practised principally in insurance defence, labour and employment issues and commercial suits before retiring in 2025, also advising self-governing professions on public policy and governance matters. He appeared before all levels of court in Nova Scotia and numerous administrative tribunals, including the Workers Compensation Appeal Board and the Nova Scotia Labour Relations Board. David graduated from St. Francis Xavier University and the University of New Brunswick Law School, and took an 18-month leave from practice in 1995 to serve as Executive Assistant to Nova Scotia's Deputy Premier and Minister of Justice. He is a past President of the Nova Scotia Law Reform Commission and served as President of the Canadian Bar Association's Nova Scotia branch in 2015.
