About Jim
Jim S. Hong is a partner with decades of banking and finance experience, bringing an international perspective to corporate and securities law. His practice centers on structured finance and securitizations, advising on public and private managed products, asset-backed financings and derivatives while helping develop securitization structures for cross-border deals. He is recognized as a leading practitioner in this field and co-authored the Canada chapter of a well-known international guide to securitization law published in London. Hong also teaches commercial law as an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School. Before joining Torys, he was part of a major UK firm's international securitization team based in London, where his work included debt refinancing along with RMBS and CDO deals.
