About Darryl

Darryl Hiscocks is counsel practising across the full range of human resources and labour law, advising clients in both the private and public sectors on employment, human rights, pay equity, privacy, workers' compensation, workplace safety and occupational health and safety issues. His work covers day-to-day matters such as hiring, executive compensation, discipline and terminations, as well as more contentious files including wrongful and unjust dismissal claims, workplace investigations, grievances, arbitrations and human rights applications. Darryl also drafts and updates employment-related documents, from employment contracts and workplace policies to collective agreements and accommodation policies. He regularly advises employers on the labour and employment side of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and restructurings, for clients in industries ranging from retail and pharmaceuticals to banking, insurance and automotive. He serves as Vice-Chair of the Ontario Bar Association's Labour and Employment Law Executive and previously chaired the Canadian Bar Association's National Labour and Employment Law Section, and he belongs to several professional bodies including The Advocates' Society and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
