About Daniel

Daniel Burnett practises freedom of expression and media law, along with defamation, entertainment, intellectual property, technology and estate litigation matters. Burnett was lead counsel in Supreme Court of Canada cases including Crookes v. Newton and WIC Radio v. Simpson, taught as an adjunct professor at UBC for more than 15 years, and is a former president of the Canadian Media Lawyers Association. Burnett has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada, Lexpert and Benchmark Canada, and volunteers with the BC Civil Liberties Association and the Jack Webster Foundation.
