About Daniel

Daniel J. Song, K.C. practises as counsel to Pringle Law, managing its Vancouver office and practising criminal law in both Alberta and British Columbia. He has broad trial experience defending serious and complex charges, including homicides, criminal organization offences, kidnapping, extortion, drug trafficking, and money laundering, and extensive appellate experience, having represented clients at the Supreme Court of Canada in more than twenty cases and been appointed amicus curiae by both the Alberta and British Columbia Courts of Appeal. Notable matters include the Coutts border blockade conspiracy, the Surrey Six gangland massacre, and a 16-year civil forfeiture action against an alleged outlaw motorcycle club. Daniel initially pursued a degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Toronto before completing a degree in English Literature at the University of British Columbia, where he later obtained his law degree in 2006. He is an adjunct professor at UBC's Peter A. Allard School of Law, an advocacy advisor for the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute, a board director of the B.C. Civil Liberties Association, and a supervising lawyer for the UBC Innocence Project. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2022, named one of Canadian Lawyer's Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers of 2023, recognized by Best Lawyers in 2025, and inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2024.
