About Laura
Laura Matalas defends people facing criminal charges, regulatory offences, and professional disciplinary allegations at Pringle Law. Her work includes complex criminal trials, third-party records applications, contested bail and sentencing hearings, appeals, youth court matters, and professional discipline cases, including under the Health Professions Act. She volunteers with the Elizabeth Fry Society, advising inmates at the Edmonton Institution for Women, and assists with an Indigenous sentencing course at the University of Alberta, participating in committees aimed at reducing the over-incarceration of Indigenous people. Laura completed her undergraduate degree in Philosophy at the University of Victoria, graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2016, and articled under Justice Kent J. Teskey. She has practised at Pringle Law since being called to the bar in 2017.
