About Alexander

Alexander Pringle, K.C. practised law for over 40 years and founded the firm that bears his name. A native Edmontonian, he received his BA from the University of Alberta in 1968 and graduated from law school at the University of Toronto in 1971. He was called to the bar in Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon, and represented thousands of individuals charged with serious criminal offences, including dozens charged with murder. He was appointed King's Counsel in 1992, elected Chair of the Criminal Law section of the Uniform Law Conference of Canada in 1998, and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Law Society of Alberta and the Harradence Prize from the Criminal Trial Lawyers' Association of Alberta in 2013. He taught as a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta for over three decades. Alexander Pringle passed away in June 2015; Pringle Law continues his tradition of advocacy on behalf of the accused.
