About Michael

Michael Gismondi is a partner at Peck and Company practicing criminal and administrative law. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia and in the Federal Court of Canada, and has represented clients before bodies including the Parole Board of Canada, the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia, and RoadSafetyBC. He is a graduate of the University of Victoria, holding a B.A. Hons in 2006 and a J.D. in 2012, and spent a semester abroad at Utrecht University in the Netherlands during law school. Michael joined Peck and Company in 2011 as a summer student before completing his articles with the firm, then spent nearly two years at a civil litigation firm specializing in personal injury and estate law before returning to Peck and Company in 2015. He was co-counsel on the MV Sun Sea case, securing an acquittal on human smuggling charges, and successfully defended that result against a Crown appeal and a Crown application for leave to the Supreme Court of Canada. Michael is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society.
