About Christopher D. Clemmer

Christopher D. Clemmer is a partner in Bennett Grant LLP's litigation group and works out of the firm's Kitchener office. Insurance defence and municipal liability sit at the centre of the practice, alongside commercial litigation and arbitration. In court, Christopher has argued in every branch of Ontario's Superior Court of Justice and before the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Kitchener is where Christopher grew up. High school was Preston in Cambridge, and an honours degree in history followed at Huron University College (University of Western Ontario), finished on the Dean's Honour List in 2006. Law school came next at the University of Ottawa, with a Bachelor of Laws in 2009 and a call to the bar in 2010.

During law school, Christopher travelled to Paris to compete at the International Chamber of Commerce Commercial Mediation Competition on behalf of the University of Ottawa's law faculty, and wrote on both legal ethics and international copyright, the latter with law professor Jeremy de Beer.

With clients, Christopher's first step is to get a full grasp of what the dispute is really about. From there, the approach is practical, with a commitment to keeping both cost and delay to a minimum.
