About Charles
Charles Daoust is a founding member and partner of David | Sauvé LLP, maintaining a general civil litigation practice in both official languages with a focus on commercial disputes and public law, including judicial review and Charter remedies. He also practises employment law and defamation law, particularly cases involving cyberbullying and harassment on social media, and has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Courts, and the Supreme Court of Canada on three occasions. Before private practice, he clerked for Justice Denis Gascon of the Federal Court and Justice Johanne Gauthier of the Federal Court of Appeal, and worked for an international arbitration group in Paris. Charles teaches civil procedure, constitutional and administrative law, evidence, and alternative dispute resolution at Algonquin College, and teaches advocacy in French at the University of Ottawa.
