About Chantalle

Chantalle Briggs is an associate who also works as a registered patent agent in Canada, with a practice centered on life science innovations and products. She provides IP counsel and handles patent drafting and prosecution work, and she advises on regulatory matters involving the Patented Medicines Regulations, as well as obligations under the Food and Drugs Act. Her practice covers technologies such as diagnostics, therapeutics, medical devices, and genetic engineering, serving clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and agrotechnology industries. She also conducts prior art searches and prepares patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments, in addition to advising on trade secrets and drafting IP agreements such as non-disclosure and material transfer agreements. Before joining Torys, she worked at a national intellectual property boutique firm, and she now serves on committees of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
