Brett Love co-founded Drouillard Lawyers, focusing her litigation practice on real estate contract disputes, land ownership disputes, and collapsing real estate deals, as well as residential tenancy matters before the BC Residential Tenancy Branch. She has experience in Aboriginal law, including land management and title claims, having previously acted for the federal government on regulatory prosecutions and as co-counsel on complex civil litigation and Aboriginal rights and title files, including matters before the federal Specific Claims Tribunal. Brett has appeared before all levels of court in BC, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Tax Court of Canada, and several administrative tribunals. Before becoming a lawyer, she provided institutional research, planning support, and project management to the University of British Columbia. She co-authored a treatise on manufactured housing law in British Columbia and teaches real estate law at the UBC Sauder School of Business. Brett earned her JD from UBC in 2017, a Master of Arts from UBC in 2011, and a BA (Hons) from UBC in 2007, and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2018.
