About Benjamin

Benjamin Kingstone grew up in Shawnigan Lake, BC before studying literature and Russian, including a stint studying literature in Irkutsk, Russia, and completing law school at McGill University. Between degrees he worked as a forest fire fighter and as a registry clerk at the Duncan courthouse, which gave him an inside view of court procedure. After articling with an Alberta firm specializing in Aboriginal law, he was called to the Alberta bar in 2018 and, the same year, to the British Columbia bar after returning to Vancouver Island to practice family law. He joined Swift Datoo in 2019, where his family law practice includes cohabitation and separation agreements, adoptions, child protection, and excluded property claims, and he appears regularly in Provincial and Supreme Court.
