About Basia

Basia joined Valent Legal in May 2020, starting as an articling clerk before becoming a litigation lawyer with the firm. She earned her undergraduate degree from McGill University in 2017 and her law degree from Dalhousie University in 2020, along with a specialization certificate in Health Law and Policy. Through the Pro Bono Dalhousie program she worked with the Right to Know Coalition of Halifax, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, and the Dalhousie Department of Psychiatry, and completed internships with the Nova Scotia Public Trustee and the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness. She serves on the Board of Directors for Hospice Halifax and works with Department of Justice Victims Services, providing independent legal advice to survivors of sexual assault.
