About Christine

Christine Ashbourne is a partner in Torkin Manes' Family Law Group, handling everything from cohabitation agreements and marriage contracts for high-net-worth clients to litigation with complex criminal, interjurisdictional, and tax dimensions. She has conducted numerous mediations and arbitrations and has appeared before every level of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal. Christine sharpened her advocacy during her articling year as a Judicial Law Clerk to the judges of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in the Southwest Region. She has served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Money & Family Law since 2022 and wrote the family law chapter on the intersection of family and criminal proceedings for Modern Criminal Evidence. Christine was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012 after earning her JD from Queen's and a BA from the University of Toronto, and she has been recognized repeatedly by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and Best Lawyers in Canada.
