About Alyssa

Alyssa was called to the bar in 2020 and now works as an associate at Mathany & Higgs Law. Before joining the firm, she served as a solicitor for one of Canada's largest municipalities, handling construction and infrastructure matters, and later worked at a mid-size Toronto firm representing both public and private sector clients on real estate acquisition, expropriation, municipal and land planning files. She articled at the Regional Municipality of Peel, which gave her an in-house view of expropriation and land use planning issues. Alyssa has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Provincial Offences Court, the Ontario Land Tribunal, and municipal councils and committees. She earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she won an award for academic achievement, and holds an Honours B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University.
