About Ian

Ian Mathany co-founded M&H Law with Christel Higgs in 2018. Before that, he practiced for more than eight years and served as a partner with one of the country's largest full-service firms. His practice focuses on real property litigation, particularly expropriation law, and he appears before the Ontario Land Tribunal on expropriation matters. He assists public sector clients such as transit authorities and municipalities as well as private sector clients including developers, corporations, pension funds, and homeowners. He has served as president of the Ontario Expropriation Association and currently sits on its board, and he also trains other professionals as a certified instructor for the International Right of Way Association.
