About Allyson
Allyson is an associate at Torys focusing on litigation and dispute resolution, with experience in complex commercial disputes, securities litigation and shareholder conflicts. She has handled matters involving alleged breach of contract, proposed class proceedings and antitrust litigation. Before joining Torys, she served as a law clerk to Justice Mahmud Jamal at the Supreme Court of Canada, and to Justice David G. Near, who sits on the Federal Court of Appeal. She has also worked as a lawyer in both New York and Montreal. During law school she won the Chief Justice Greenshields Prize for Criminal Law and received a community engagement award from Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg for her volunteer work at the Project Genesis legal clinic in Montreal. She also coordinated McGill's Women in House Program and was a Student Fellow with the Yan P. Lin Centre's constitutional studies research group.
