Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionAlison Hopkins practises insurance defence litigation, focusing on casualty claims in the auto and occupier's liability context. She has appeared as counsel at trial in the Supreme Court of British Columbia on numerous occasions and has argued before the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Early in her career she worked as a visiting lawyer at South Africa's Legal Resources Centre from 2011 to 2012, focusing on constitutional test-case litigation involving health access and education. She was called to the bar in Ontario in 2011 and in British Columbia in 2012. She is a director and committee member with Canadian Defence Lawyers and received that organization's Richard B. Lindsay QC Exceptional Young Lawyer Award in 2019. She has also served the Squamish Hospital Foundation as a director since 2013, including as its president from 2016 to 2020.
