About Kristen
Kristen Courtney was called to the bar in Ontario in 2009 and in British Columbia in 2011, and joined Toews & Company in 2015. Kristen holds a law degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Humanities from Carleton University. Kristen's practice focuses on civil litigation, including family law, estate litigation, contract disputes, and personal injury matters, and has included appearances before courts in both British Columbia and Ontario. Before entering private practice Kristen worked for the Parliament of Canada providing legal analysis to lawmakers, and later as a contract lawyer with Saxe Law Office. Kristen is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund, and has written on environmental and natural resource law topics.
