About Alex

Alex Yip is a criminal defence lawyer with Strategic Criminal Defence, based out of the Calgary office. Alex completed both an undergraduate degree and law school at the University of Alberta, graduating in 2020, and during that time volunteered with Student Legal Services and completed a practicum with Legal Aid Alberta. Before joining the firm, Alex articled at a personal injury practice and worked at a family law office, building a broad legal background. Alex's criminal defence work spans assault, sexual assault, drug and firearm offences, mischief, and property crimes, and also covers related matters such as child welfare, divorce, and protection orders. Alex is fluent in English and Cantonese.
