About Cara

Cara Lebenzon is a criminal defence lawyer with Strategic Criminal Defence, practising out of the firm's Lethbridge office. Cara articled and has practised in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta for four years, handling matters ranging from property crime and fraud to domestic violence, manslaughter, sexual assault, and impaired driving cases. Particular interests include the intersection of mental health, addiction, and criminal justice, and helping young clients navigate charges under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Cara sits on the board of the Southern Alberta Defence Lawyers' Association as Communications Director and volunteers with Lethbridge Legal Guidance. Cara holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, a Master of Arts in political science from Tel Aviv University, and a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from the University of Calgary.
