About Williams HR Law LLP

Williams HR Law LLP is a management side labour and employment law firm based in Markham, Ontario, serving employers across the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario. Managing partner Laura Williams founded the firm, which works alongside a sister consulting business, Williams HR Consulting Inc. Rather than practicing law broadly, it focuses only on workplace law, covering employment law, occupational health and safety, human rights, labour relations, disability management, privacy compliance, and workplace investigations. The team also investigates harassment, discrimination, and misconduct complaints on behalf of employer clients across sectors.

The firm organizes its work around a four step model, understanding, strategy development, implementation, and monitoring, built to catch workplace risks before they turn into disputes rather than respond after the fact. It runs a summer student and articling program that puts students into hearing preparation and investigation work early instead of keeping them on research alone, and it maintains a standing equity, diversity, and inclusion commitment that shapes how it hires and how it approaches sensitive investigation files. Laura Williams also hosts a podcast for business leaders and HR professionals called We Thrive Forward, and holds the Certified Professional Speakers designation from the National Speakers' Association.
