Founding partner James Lockyer has practiced criminal law for fifty years and, since 1992, has focused on investigating and overturning wrongful convictions. As a founding director of Innocence Canada, Lockyer worked on the exonerations of David Milgaard, Steven Truscott, and James Driskell, and was made a member of the Order of Canada in December 2018. Founding partner Peter Zaduk studied law under Lockyer before being called to the Ontario Bar in 1978. The Law Society certified Zaduk as a Specialist in Criminal Litigation in 1991, and over a career spanning four decades Zaduk has handled 45 murder trials, with favourable outcomes in most of them.
