Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionArooba is an associate at Lockyer Zaduk Zeeh who practices criminal and constitutional law, with successful representations before the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice. She acted as co-counsel at the Supreme Court of Canada in Ontario (Attorney General) v G, a landmark ruling that struck down provisions of Ontario's sex offender registry as unconstitutional. Her trial work covers offences from assault and sexual assault to criminal organization charges, drug prosecutions, firearms offences, robbery and first-degree murder, and she also handles SOIRA termination and section 161 variation hearings. Before focusing on criminal defence, she represented plaintiffs in police brutality, human rights and professional liability cases. Arooba received her Juris Doctor from Western University and her Honours B.A. in Legal Studies and Sociology, with a specialization in Criminology, from the University of Waterloo. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2019.
