About Elek
Elek Reitsma is an Associate at the firm, called to the bar in 2023. He has handled trials, preliminary inquiries, bail hearings, and appeals, appearing at all levels of court in Ontario as well as before the Supreme Court of Canada. Elek attended Queen's University's Faculty of Law, gaining practical experience with vulnerable clients at a legal aid clinic, and he later articled and worked as an associate at a high-volume Toronto criminal defence firm. He has since worked in a labour and employment setting while continuing to practice criminal defence, and in 2025 he moved to Edmonton to concentrate on criminal appeals. Elek has remained active with the Law Union of Ontario's Policing Subcommittee since law school and is a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association.
