About Peter
Peter Zaduk has practised criminal defence since winning his first jury trial two weeks after his call to the Ontario bar in 1978. Over more than four decades he has defended 45 murder trials, securing acquittals or reduced verdicts in the large majority. He has particular expertise in international criminal law, major narcotics prosecutions including marijuana grow-house cases, conspiracy trials, and search and seizure litigation. He was certified by the Law Society as a Specialist in Criminal Litigation in 1991. Early in his career he articled with prominent Toronto criminal lawyers Earl Levy, Walton C. Rose, and Louis D. Silver, and later practised alongside Ross Mackay. His cases have included the defence of Zigiranyirazo before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda on genocide and war crimes charges.
