Gibson Tanner Rabin LLP is a mid-sized Ottawa law firm formed in 2024 by founding partners Russell Gibson, Jason Rabin, and Harland Tanner. It launched with twelve lawyers, two registered paralegals, and ten clerks and support staff, organized around four practice pillars: corporate and commercial law, real estate, wills and estates, and civil litigation and family law. The firm's lawyers describe their practices as having roots in Ottawa going back more than 50 years; counsel John Piazza, for instance, was called to the Ontario bar in 1973. The firm offers services in English, French, Italian, German, Sinhala, Tamil, and Arabic.

Before co-founding the firm, Gibson worked as a journalist, including as a reporter for United Press Newswire and a member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, then built an independent practice focused on not-for-profit and public sector clients such as hospitals, universities, and schools. Rabin practiced insurance litigation at firms in Toronto and at a national firm's Ottawa office before co-founding Gibson Tanner Rabin, and has taught Civil Procedure at the University of Ottawa. Tanner, called to the bar in 2008, concentrates on real estate and wills and estates, advising on matters from residential purchases to condominium and land development projects.
