About William

William Mercer is a fluently bilingual associate whose practice covers insurance defence and commercial litigation, including tort liability, accident benefits, coverage disputes, and jurisdictional issues, with appearances before the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, and various tribunals. He holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Laws from the Université de Montréal along with a Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility and Mediation from Université Aix-Marseille, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2023. Mercer belongs to Canadian Defence Lawyers, where he contributes to its Accident Benefits Sub-Committee and Young Lawyers' Committee, and is set to begin an LL.M. in International Business Law at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2026 while continuing to practise full-time. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Young Philanthropists of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and sits on the board of the Adélard artist residency in Quebec's Eastern Townships.
