About Victoria
When Victoria Jones joined the practice as an articling student in 2012, she made de Villars Jones a two-generation law firm. She practises primarily in wills and estates, and particularly enjoys estate litigation, which lets her foresee red flags that can come up after a will is probated. She also practises administrative law alongside David Phillip Jones, regularly appearing before the Court of King's Bench and the Court of Appeal of Alberta, and has appeared at the Supreme Court of Canada. She was a member of the Surrogate Reform Group that redesigned the Alberta Surrogate Forms for Grants of Probate, was the first lawyer in Alberta to receive a digital grant of probate under the new Surrogate Digital Service, and received the Law Society of Alberta and Canadian Bar Association's Distinguished Service Award for that work. She holds a Certificate in Collaborative Conflict Resolution, with a focus on mediation, from the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
