About Anne

Anne S. de Villars, K.C., co-founded de Villars Jones in 1988 with David Phillip Jones and works with clients across all areas of estate law, including estate planning through wills, enduring powers of attorney, personal directives, and trusts, as well as estate administration and estate litigation. A qualified mediator, she founded the Collaborative Estates and Trusts Lawyers Society and has conducted many estate mediations leading to early settlements. Her long-time interest in her own community, the Garneau, led her into municipal planning law, and she chaired the Garneau Community League's Planning Committee for 42 years. She is co-author of Jones and de Villars' Principles of Administrative Law, co-editor of the Annotated Surrogate Rules, and wrote the Legal Education Society of Alberta's Wills Fundamentals. She spent 20 years on the Alberta Law Reform Institute board working on reforms to Alberta's succession law.
