About Valeriia

Valeriia Ustiuhova moved to Canada from Ukraine, where she held a bachelor's degree from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and a master's from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and practised law for over three years, including representing the Government of Ukraine in international investment arbitration and handling cross-border criminal and financial cases. In Canada she earned a master's in Canadian Common Law from UBC's Peter A. Allard School of Law, where she was recognized as a top clinician with the UBC Legal Aid Clinic. She passed the bar exam in August 2024 and is completing her articles at Cates Ford Soll & Epp while working toward bar admission. Valeriia's practice interests include civil litigation and family law, and she offers services in English, Ukrainian, and Russian.
