Tory earned an LL.B. with Distinction from the University of Kent in the UK in 2014 and an LL.M. with Distinction in Medical Law and Ethics, also from Kent, in 2015, along with a BA Honours in Philosophy from Queen's University in 2011. Tory was called to the Alberta Bar in 2017 and the Saskatchewan Bar in 2024, advises on insurance delistings, clinical risk management and privacy compliance, and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C) and co-author of the Annotated Alberta Health Information Act. Tory testified before the Senate Standing Committee on Bill S-5, chairs the Canadian Bar Association's National Health Law Section, and teaches in Osgoode's Certificate in Privacy Law program.
