About Thomas

Thomas McMillan joined the firm in 2022 and focuses his practice on general civil litigation, with particular emphasis on defending insurers in bodily injury claims. Before joining DWF, he worked at a boutique personal injury firm in Calgary, primarily handling bodily injury claims. Thomas McMillan has assisted on files involving the recovery of fraudulently obtained funds, including preparing applications for Norwich and Attachment Orders in Alberta, and has contributed to several breach matters, among them an ongoing case involving a municipality, a union, and multiple contractors. He is currently defending a privacy breach claim tied to allegedly leaked information connected to a private investigator, raising issues of confidentiality and surveillance. Thomas McMillan has appeared for clients in the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of King's Bench, and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. He attended law school at the University of Calgary, where he received the Scott Venturo Rudakoff award for the highest grade in Insurance Law, and earned his J.D. in 2019 before being called to the Alberta bar in 2020.
