About Thomas
Thomas Kormylo heads Pitblado Law's Securities and Corporate Finance practice, with over 40 years focused on private equity transactions. Thomas acts for issuers, brokers, underwriters, and investors on corporate finance and securities matters, regularly appearing before the Manitoba Securities Commission, and served for many years as a panel member on IIROC disciplinary hearings. Thomas's practice also includes entertainment law, having worked in film financing for funding agencies, broadcasters, radio stations, producers, and musicians, as well as Manitoba oil and gas interests and business immigration. Thomas was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1980 after earning an LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 1979, and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada for Securities Law and Corporate Law annually from 2006 to 2024, including as Winnipeg's Securities Law Lawyer of the Year in 2012.
