About Thomas
Tom Blackburn is a lawyer in Cox & Palmer's Halifax office, practising with the firm's Family Law group. His work covers separation, divorce, parenting arrangements, and child and spousal support, with a particular interest in complex financial issues such as income determination, imputation of income, and the tax implications of support awards. Originally from Halifax, he completed a combined honours degree in Contemporary Studies and English at the University of King's College in 2012 and earned his Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University before being called to the Nova Scotia Bar. Tom assists with family law matters at both the trial and appellate levels, including written advocacy, and helps clients prepare agreements such as cohabitation and marriage contracts and separation agreements.
