About Theoni
Theoni Kapetaneas graduated cum laude from the University of Toronto with an Honours degree in Criminology before completing her Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa, where she also worked as a teaching assistant for the first-year criminal law course. During her studies she worked for a criminal defence lawyer and with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association on bail reform and privacy issues. She articled at Schofield Macchia and stayed on as an associate, gaining hands-on experience with bail hearings, sentencing hearings, pre-trial motions and trials alongside the firm's principals. Her practice now centres on complex and challenging criminal litigation matters, and she appears regularly before all levels of court.
