About Terence

Terence Doherty is a partner in Osler's Corporate Group based in the firm's New York office. With more than 24 years of experience, he advises Canadian and international clients with business interests in Canada on compliance and regulatory matters affecting financial institutions, dealers, advisers, investment fund managers, and other market participants. Doherty's practice focuses on the regulation of securities, futures, derivatives, and marketplace conduct, including trading compliance and Canadian SRO rules. He has extensive experience advising on cross-border public and private securities offerings, structured products, and private equity fund formation and capital raising. Doherty also advises clients on anti-money laundering regulation and in connection with investigations and enforcement matters. He holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association.
