About Steve
Steve Ballard has practised law for more than 25 years, including a period as Managing Partner of Cowley & Company, one of British Columbia's established firms. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2023, one of 26 lawyers named that year in British Columbia, in recognition of his work in trials and appeals, including several Supreme Court of British Columbia judgments. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, including complex trials and appeals before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Court of Appeal. At Walia Law Group he leads the estate litigation practice, with a particular focus on estates where proper planning was not done or where claims threaten a fair distribution of assets. His practice also includes family law, construction litigation, and personal injury law. He is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.
