About Manjit
Manjit Walia began his legal career in India, where he was admitted to the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana High Court in 1976 and later co-founded a practice in Jalandhar, Punjab in 1979. He immigrated to Canada in 1980 and worked for a time as a realtor before returning to law, articling in Calgary in 2001 and being called to the Alberta Bar in 2002. He operated his own law practice in Calgary from 2003 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2014, after which he opened a second office in Surrey, BC, where he now practices alongside his two sons. His practice focuses on immigration law for clients throughout British Columbia. He is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Law Society of Alberta, and the Canadian Bar Association, and volunteers with Calgary Legal Guidance.
