About Stephanie
Stephanie Streat is the founder of Synthesis Legal and practises as a lawyer and mediator focused on civil litigation and construction law. She was called to the bar in Alberta in 2009 and in British Columbia in 2012. Streat holds an LL.B. with distinction from the University of Alberta and a B.A. with distinction from the University of Victoria, and she completed CLEBC mediator training in 2020. Earlier in her career she worked with construction lawyers in Edmonton and Vancouver on complex, high-profile projects, and she has acted for project owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, municipalities, and insurers. She is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Law Society of Alberta, sits on the Association of British Columbia Land Surveyors appeal panel, and has held executive roles with the Canadian Bar Association's civil litigation, construction, and municipal law sub-sections.
