About Jeff
Jeff Huberman was called to the bar in British Columbia in August 1993 and practices Indigenous law, focusing on rights, title, lands, environmental, cultural, governance, and economic development issues. He has appeared at all levels of court in BC, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Canada, and various administrative tribunals, and worked for five years as a frontline lawyer in Williams Lake, BC for members of seven Indigenous communities. His practice includes litigation over the Crown's treaty obligations and duty to consult, Specific Claims, resource development negotiations, and reserve lands issues. Huberman is a frequent public speaker on Indigenous law topics, including presentations at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, Huron College, and the UBC Faculty of Law.
